Welcome to the Texas State University System Board of Regents

This week Texas State University hosts some of the most prestigious people in Texas. The Board of Regents, the governing body in charge of the Texas State University System, visits Texas State and the LBJ Student Center at least once a year to meet and make important decisions that affect students lives. The Texas State University system is comprised of 8 universities including Texas State, Lamar University, Sam Houston State University, Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College-Orange, Lamar State College-Port Arthur, Sul Ross State University and Sul Ross State University Rio Grande College. With so many universities to choose from it’s an honor to have the Regents hosted here at Texas State.

In addition to the Regents meeting, our own Associated Student Government President and Vice President meet with presidents from other universities to report on important issues facing the students in the Texas State University System. Some of the current issues students have presented are tobacco policies, collegiate athletics, parking and pedestrian safety among other things. The Board of Regents listens to the voices of our students and shapes policies based on our input. Your voice matters!

The LBJ Student Center gives a warm welcome to the Board of Regents this week. We hope you’ve enjoyed your time here at Texas State!
